How to Listen to the Scanner Yourself LIVE:
If you would like to listen to law enforcement, medical and fire, you have a few options:
OPTION 1: Google Broadcastify and find the appropriate feed. Jackson County: http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/7238/web
OPTION 2: Buy a scanner locally or through an online retailer (ie. Amazon, Ebay, etc.) You’ll need to manually program the frequencies, which can be found online, free.
OPTION 3: Download an App for your phone: Broadcastify & Scanner Radio are the recommended apps. Broadcastify.com for your computer is a good way to listen as well. Emergency Radio and 5-0 Radio are a few of those available.

MDC, MDT, MY SCREEN – In Car Computer – dispatch can send them photos, reports, warrant information, etc.. You often will hear LE (Law Enforcement) state ‘Send it to my screen.’, when speaking to dispatch.
IN CUSTODY – subject is in handcuffs, in the back of the police car, taken to jail, or otherwise ‘secured.’
DETOX – the drunk tank – where they take drunk / intoxicated people that haven’t done anything to warrant jail but not safe enough to be left in public.
PHASE 2 – Where dispatch obtains an ‘approximate’ address based on a cell ping and/or approx info based on phone company data.
DOMESTIC – Usually a fight between two or more people people, son/dad, mom/daughter, boyfriend/girlfriend; typically within a house/dwelling, but does happen in public at times.
