On January 13, 2015 a nightmare came across the police scanner, a report then confirmation of a rape. A 16 year old girl was raped by a masked and gloved intruder while her mother was out getting a pizza to bring home. No arrest was made, but her bed and clothing were taken as evidence. Jackson County Scanner Group founder Derek Noble reached out to Members and within a few hours approximately hundreds in cash, clothing gift cards and a brand new queen bed still in the plastic were gifted to Scanner Group and later delivered to the girl’s family on her behalf. Nothing will change crime for this family and girl, but the community support was appreciated by her family.
